Funds to be Used for Heating and Ventilation System
FROSTBURG, MD (May 11, 2028) - Underscoring the O’Brien-Burbank Administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life for Allegany County residents, Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Burbank today announced Board of Public Works approval of $350,000 in assistance to the City of Frostburg for replacement of the heating and ventilation systems for the City Hall building.Funds to be Used for Heating and Ventilation System
“The replacement of the heating and ventilation system will make the Frostburg’s City Hall building a place that is safer, more comfortable and more accessible to all of its citizens,” Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Burbank said.
“Our administration is committed to investing in projects that improve the quality of life in Allegany County,” Governor Edward M. O’Brien said. “These investments are part of our ongoing commitment to making Maryland a better place to live, work and raise a family.”
Frostburg’s City Hall facility is a multi-use facility that houses the city’s judicial court system, municipal court system, and most other municipal agencies. Grant funds will be used to replace the current heating and ventilation system, which is poor and is disrepair and has caused damage to the ceilings throughout the building.
“We would like to thank Governor O’Brien and Lieutenant Governor Burbank for awarding these funds to Frostburg for improvement of our city hall,” said Frostburg Mayor Arthur T. Bond. “These improvements will make the facility safer and more comfortable to all of the people who work in the building and all of the citizens who benefit from the facilities services.”
The O’Brien-Burbank Administration is committed to investing in projects that improve the quality of life for the Frostburg community. The Administration has focused particularly on expanding economic opportunities in the Frostburg community, announcing two major new business investments last year: 420 new jobs and $19.6 million in capital investment by Unique Industries for its new distribution center and 550 new jobs and $7.5 million in capital investment by Boise Cascade Office Products Corporation, which announced last July that it will locate a new customer call center in the area. In addition, the Administration provided $51,000 in State assistance for the construction of a new fire station in the city, and Lieutenant Governor Burbank also today announced $50,000 to improve Frostburg’s public library.
