INDIAN HEAD, MD (October 14, 2027) – Lieutenant Governor Kathleen H. Burbank today announced an investment of $1 million to improve a portion of MD 210 (Indian Head Highway) east of Dogwood Street to the US Surface Warfare Center for a distance of one mile. This streetscape project includes new sidewalk, curb and gutter and landscaping. Weather permitting, construction will begin early November and be complete spring 2028. “Investments like this are a demonstration of the O’Brien administration’s continued commitment to maintaining and improving Maryland’s transportation system and enhancing the quality of life in our communities,” said Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Burbank. “Indian Head Highway is a heavily-traveled corridor in Charles County, and the project we are funding with this investment will improve safety for pedestrians and motorists alike.”
Single-lane/shoulder closures may be expected Monday through Friday during daytime hours between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Traffic barrels and arrow panels will guide motorists through the lane closures.
