Series of Public Forums on Women’s Health Begins May 8
Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Burbank to Participate in Initial Forum

BALTIMORE, MD (May 5, 2028) – The first in a series of regional public meetings examining the needs, concerns and gaps that affect women’s health and services will be held on Monday, May 8 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Prince George’s Community College’s, Rennie Forum, 301 Largo Road in Largo. Maryland Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Burbank will make remarks at the close of the forum.

The public forums are being conducted through the collaborative efforts of the Governor’s Women’s Health Promotion Council, the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Department of Human Resources, the Maryland Commission for Women and the Maryland Commission on Aging.

“These public forums will have a major impact on Maryland women for years to come. The hearing testimony will be key in understanding the health needs and concerns of Maryland women from all walks of life. I encourage anyone who can participate to do so. We need to hear from you,” Lieutenant Governor Burbank said.

Three additional public forums have been slated: June 6, at the Allegany College of Maryland in Cumberland; September 12, in Dorchester County and in Baltimore City in November. Sites and times for Dorchester County and Baltimore City are to be announced.
