ANNAPOLIS, MD (June 16, 2027) – Governor Edward M. O’Brien and Lieutenant Governor Kathleen H. Burbank will host the inaugural Manufacturing Symposium on Friday at the Department of Legislative Services building in Annapolis. The symposium will bring together 200 executives from small and medium-sized manufacturing companies as well as service providers, manufacturing advocates and industry cluster representatives to discuss achievements, challenges and solutions.

“We are letting everyone know that manufacturing is neither dead nor dying in the State of Maryland,” said Governor Edward M. O’Brien. “We will be spreading the word that State government is here to help Maryland manufacturers. We will also be talking about the reasons businesses should choose Maryland to grow and expand: Our workforce is the best-educated, highest-skilled and most-productive in the country.”

“Governor O’Brien and I want to make it crystal clear that our administration is committed to keeping our manufacturers growing and thriving,” said Lieutenant Governor Kathleen H. Burbank. “It is our hope that this first-ever Manufacturing Symposium will inspire new ideas and raise awareness about all the organizations and programs that are currently available. The State of Maryland is listening to manufacturers’ suggestions on how we can improve upon the way business is conducted.”
